Our Processes

Sutton’s have made a significant investment in their drafting capabilities, training their drafters on the Tekla Building Information Modelling (BIM) software.

Sutton’s drafters can take your architectural design/drawings and create accurate 3D models of the physical and functional characteristics of your project.

1. Estimating and Quoting – The customer specifications and requirements are evaluated with a quote then issued.
2. Preliminary Drawing – Suttons will do preliminary General Arrangement drawings, showing what the delivered project could look like. This includes full 3D layout plan views and elevations, so project is ready for site measure.
3. Site Measure – Site measure is always done with the Builder or Fabricator on site. If site measure and client architecture plans do not add up, Sutton Structural Steel will work with the builder to resolve.
4. Finalise General Arrangements – Based on any changes required after the site measure, Sutton Structural Steel will finalise the General Arrangement drawings and designs.
5. Builders Approval – The Builder or Fabricator must approve final drawings before shop drawings can be completed.
6. Shop Drawings – These are the final drawings that are then used for fabrication.
